Abstract: The design process of a product is a multi-step process of selection and assessment criteria to create a final product which meets all the needs of the practice. A small UAV combined between flying-wing and quadrotor is a very complex product, so the design process of this small UAV requires a thorough and circumspect review. The problem is how to optimize the design and to carry out the testing of the feasibility of design requirements with the lowest cost and time savings. For that reason, many tools of Multi-Fidelity Analysis for UAV such as XFLR5, XFoil… have been used to give considerable support for this design process. This research focusses mainly on the analysis/design of the configuration of a small UAV flying wing based on the performance at its cruise speed.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to take measures to manufacture the experimental model: NACA 0012 wing model in the low speed wind tunnel (38 m/s). The parameters base on the achieved results of Thi-Tuyet Nhung Le & al.: “Design of aeroelasticity bench test for NACA0012 wing model in the low speed wind tunnel: Influence of wing’s parameters on flutter speed”. As flutter is a destructive phenomenon, many studies has researched and manufactured experimental models. The suitable material of wing is polyurethane elastomer. The suitable method which manufactures the wing model is CNC method.

Abstract: Crashworthiness is an important criterion in vehicle design. In fact, a crashworthy design will reduce the terrible accidents that happen everyday. Normally, tube structures are used for this task by dissipating the impact energy on the folding waves formed during the crushing progress. This study continues the previous studies, focuses on analyzing the behavior of tubular-hat subjected to axial collision. Because of the limitations on the experimental conditions, and by the finite element method, this study only concentrates on the tube section. There are two main objectives in this thesis. Firstly, we consider the difference between the behaviors of the top-hat tube and of the double-hat tube with the same axial load. Then, the geometric influence of flange on the deformation of the tubular-hat is investigated.

Abstract: The paper focuses on the energy absorption capacity of structural materials, the most important in frame design, the structure of the vehicles, scaffolding. Main content include new solution with comparing the general structure cylinder, square tube, top-hat and reverse top-hat. After that, considering and comparing displacement, force in the transformation process and find out the rule of energy that be also the core value of research, a new method to observe these processes.
